Yosemite has a land mass of 1,169 square miles. So it needs more than just a day to visit it. Most visitors, when they come here, only visit a 7 mile section that has all the famous bits – El Capitan, Yosemite Falls, Glacier Point. But there’s, literally, thousands of miles more so for my first day here I decided to go further afield than usual and see some of the other highlights of this truly amazing place.
So I rose at seven, had a hearty breakfast and set off for my destination, Toulumne Meadows, a good two and a half hours away. Now, if I’m to be honest, there isn’t much more to say. The only people I’ve had any contact with today are the people at the hotels who’ve served me food, so stories of strange interactions with the locals will have to wait. So instead of trying to serve you up many uninteresting facts – although I did tell you how big the place was, come on – I’m just going to let you look at some photos of the place and be quite simple in my impressions of Yosemite.
